GemCalc Standard is
just 180 US$.
Please read here to know what you get with
the Standard version in addition to demo version:
- 10 standard shapes (brilliant cut, marquise,
pear, baguette, prince etc) with adjustable
proportions
- possibility to import arbitrary cut designs
from GemCad ASCII format. With the DataVue2
library you can get THOUSANDS of cut designs.
- adjust the gem material characteristics
that allows you to simulate arbitrary polished
gems
- save and load files (including cut, gem
material characteristics, lighting configuration
and other workspace options)
- save and load GemCalc movies
- adjust lighting configurations
* At this time the GemCalc Standard does not
simulate double refraction and pleochroism.
GemCalc standard has the same list of built-in
materials as the GemCalc demo. In order to
work with other materials you need to adjust
gem characteristics manually.
IMPORTANT NOTE: THE LICENSE GIVES YOU
THE RIGHT TO USE GEMCALC ON A SINGLE COMPUTER
(IDENTIFIED BY THE REGISTRATION NUMBER YOU
WERE PROVIDED DURING REGISTRATION). WHENEVER
YOU WANT TO USE THE DIAMCALC ON ANY OTHER
COMPUTER(S) YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL
LICENSE(S).
At the moment, purchasing of GemCalc can be
done only via the Internet.
If you would like to buy GemCalc, follow these
steps:
1. Download it from
OctoNus
Software WWW page. The software
is locked and will work as a demo-version
(Emerald cut only) until purchased.
2. Install the software
on the same computer where you plan to use
it.
(see "How to install
GemCalc?").
3. Run GemCalc to be
sure that it is compatible with your computer
configuration, OS and other installed applications.
If you see a message "The software has
expired" press OK button, otherwise run
Help/Register menu command.
4. You will be presented
with the "Register dialog" with
the following fields:
- Serial number.
It identifies the instance of GemCalc that
you bought. The serial number will be given
to you during a purchase process.
- Registration number. It identifies
the computer where the software is installed.
- Registration key. It allows to use
the software on the specific computer.
5. Click "Buy via Web"
button to open your WWW browser and go on
with the purchase. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection or you prefer
to connect Internet from a different computer,
see topic "Registering GemCalc from a different
computer" section below.
6. Follow instructions
on the Web page to complete the purchase.
7. When the purchase
is completed, you will be granted with a serial
number and a registration key to activate
all GemCalc features. Enter them into "Register"
dialog and press Register button. If registration
is successful, the next time you start DiamCalc
all features will be enabled.
Please notice: Octonus is closed for
vacation from 30th of April till 10th of May
2004.
The support and registration may be delayed/postponed
