Some common issues
that can be seen running DiamCalc:
|
| 1.
The software does not start, showing a message
like "Ordinal xxxx not found in mfc42.dll".
|
|
It means that
the system files were not updated properly.
Possible
reasons:
a) The computer was not restarted after the
installation program prompted to do so. In
this case, DiamCalc will run correctly next
time your computer is started or rebooted.
b) If you use DiamCalc under Windows NT, this
error can appear if the user which logged
on does not have enough privileges to update
system files.
Fix:
run the installation again after making sure
that you quit as many programs as possible,
leaving only necessary ones. If it does not
help, install the software logging as Administrator
or another user with administrator access.
|
| 2.
The diamond image is not seen. Instead of
it, there is a "junk" (old copy of that region
of the computer screen) at the left part of
DiamCalc window. |
|
Reason:
the bug that could be seen on some Windows
95 or Windows 98 configurations with old versions
of DiamCalc.
Fix: upgrade to a newer version
of the software (this bug was fixed in DiamCalc
1.0 build 80).
Workaround: close DiamCalc
and start it again. Usually the problem disappears.
Otherwise, you can use Split command in View
menu to divide the diamond image into two,
the new one will be displayed correctly.
|
| 3.
The software does not start, showing a message
like "Cannot find opengl32.dll". |
|
The problem is specific
to earlier releases of Windows 95 (before
so-called Windows 95 OSR2).
Fix: upgrade
to a newer release of DiamCalc, which contains
necessary files. Make sure you download
"DiamCalc for Windows 95". The files (opengl32.dll and
glu32.dll for Windows 95) can be also received
from Microsoft.
